Located between the misty rain of Yangtze reaches and the blue waves of Taihu Lake, Wuxi Hualuxe Hotel stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Wuxi. Honglei Liu, the creative director of BLVD International, drew inspiration from local traditional cultural symbols, folk materials, and Chinese colors, transforming them into design methods and elements. The result is a scene full of oriental beauty, calm and introverted, simple yet elegant.
The hotel lobby is a spectacle of magnificence and elegance. Liu ingeniously incorporated local cultural symbols of Wuxi into the design, creating a large Taihu stone art installation over the Lobby Lounge. This subtle infusion of oriental culture charm into the space is a testament to Liu's creativity and attention to detail. The dining room, on the other hand, uses abstract features of the downtown to design the open buffet table, employing simple and symbolic ancient building language for its description.
The hotel's unique properties are further highlighted by the natural texture of Wuxi combined with traditional Japanese patterns to present an exotic restaurant. The rich texture of bamboo, rattan, wood, and other natural materials are stacked alternately to create a rich visual effect. The large-scale application of the simple and refined Japanese-style Asanoha logo creates a new space that is both complete and consistent, rich in content, as well as contrasting and harmonious.
The project, which started in April 2014 and finished in August 2017, covers an area of 2998 sqm. It includes a Lobby, Lounge, All Day Dining, Chinese Food Restaurant, Tea Room, Ballroom and Meeting Room, Executive Bar, Swimming Pool and Gym, and Guest Rooms. The design faced the challenge of reinterpreting Chinese traditional culture into a modern and simple implication, and how to bring a sense of relaxation to the guests while setting off the hotel's unique Chinese artistic conception.
Wuxi Hualuxe Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's a quiet place in the impetuous battle of life to stop. The design embodies the scene of water waves on the design of the gym and swimming pool and echoes the scene of ink stones painting, so that the guests are immersed in the softness of Wuxi when they step into the place. This design masterpiece is a testament to the creative prowess of Honglei Liu and his team at BLVD International.
